Lasercut, corten steel gateway for Cotton Fields park goes into production

An intricate illustration by Studio MIKMIK showing the various stages of cotton growth is to be lasercut into corten steel to form a gateway into Cotton Field Park, New Islington, Manchester. Each panel of the 3m high gateway is now being lasercut and will be installed in coming weeks — this is the first production photo of the gateway, more will follow soon.

The Cotton Field gatway is a collaboration between Studio MIKMIK and United Creatives in Manchester who are working on numerous, wonderful public art projects in the New Islington area.

Studio MIKMIK will be exhibiting at the 2008 Saltaire Arts Trail

Studio MIKMIK will be exhibiting in the Open Houses at this year's Saltaire Arts Trail. Each year residents open their houses to the public as unique galleries displaying a wide range of artwork from accross the region. Drop by 65 George Street to pick up some limited edition Studio MIKMIK prints and other lovely bits and pieces.

This year, 20 Open Houses are open to the public on both weekends of the Saltaire Arts Trail — 13th/14th and 20th/21st September. For more information and to download a brochure head over to the Arts Trail website.
