Saltaire Arts Trail
Preview and launch invitations
Saltaire Arts Trail is an annual event which, in partnership with the Saltaire Festival, attracts over 40,000 visitors each year.
In 2001 Saltaire was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its historical significance and almost entirely preserved architecture and layout. Saltaire's skyline is dominated by the presence of Salts Mill and its towering chimney. Once a thriving textile mill it is today the thriving home of businesses, shops and galleries including the 1853 Gallery, Europe's largest collection of works by David Hockney.
The preview night allows invitees to wander through the 20 open houses on the evening before the Arts Trail opening weekend while the launch night is the opening celebration for the whole Arts Trail. Both sets of invitations were hand printed on a Japanese Gocco printer to give each a special quality and unique feel. Colourplan 'Fuchsia' board was selected for the preview invitations to mirror the colour signifying the open houses part of the Arts Trail. For the launch night invitations Colourplan 'Harvest' board was selected to echo the Yorkshire stone of Saltaire's mill buildings. |
